What actually happens in the swimming program

Every year the two weeks of the swimming program generate more questions at the office window than anything else on the calendar, so here is the whole thing in one place.

Who goes

Years 3 to 6, every day for two weeks. Prep to Year 2 do their program in Term 1.

What to pack

Bathers under the uniform, a towel, goggles if your child uses them, and a plastic bag for wet things. Everything named. We will lend goggles to anyone who forgets, but they are the item that goes missing most.

How the groups work

Instructors assess every child on the first morning and group by ability, not by class or year level. A child who is nervous in deep water will be in a group where that is normal, and nobody is told which group is which.

If your child cannot attend

Let the office know before the first day. Students who are not swimming stay at school with another class and continue their normal program.
